Move To The Utility Section

Log into the Rentilium ERP using your credentials. On the dashboard, find the left-hand sidebar menu.

Select the Accounting section to see options like Billing, Utilities, and Payment.

Click on Utilities to proceed to the Utility Consumption Meter Readings section.

Viewing Utility Consumption Meter Readings

On selecting the Utilities option, you'll see the Utility Consumption Meter Readings page. This page is divided into tabs for different utilities, such as Electricity and potentially other services.

The displayed table includes columns such as:

Type

Description

Rental Unit

Identifies the specific unit

Property

Name of the property associated with the unit

Tenant

Name of the current occupant

Meter Start Reading & End Reading

Tracks the utility consumption

Reading Dates

Indicates the start and end dates for meter readings

Status

Shows if the reading has been updated

To make changes to a specific meter reading, click the Update button next to the desired record.

Updating Meter Readings

When you click the Update button, an Edit Meter Reading form will appear.

The form includes the following details:

Rental Unit and Property Information: Displayed at the top for reference.

Meter Start Reading: Enter the initial reading value.

Meter End Reading: Enter the final reading value for the billing period.

Reading Start Date and End Date: Specify the date range for the readings.

After filling in the required fields, double-check the values for accuracy.

Click Submit to update the reading.

Confirmation Of Updates

After submitting the updated readings, a confirmation message will appear stating "Meter reading updated successfully". Now:

  • Click OK to close the confirmation message.
  • The status in the utility readings table will update to "Updated", reflecting the recent changes.

Verifying Updated Meter Readings

Return to the Utility Consumption Meter Readings page to verify that the readings have been updated correctly.

Check the following details:

  • Meter Start Reading and End Reading: Ensure the values match the data entered.
  • Reading Dates: Confirm that the dates are correct.
  • Updated On: The system will display the date when the last update was made.
  • If any discrepancies are noticed, click Update again to make necessary corrections.

Common Issues

  • Incorrect Readings: If you notice incorrect readings after submission, use the Update button to correct the data immediately.
  • Submission Errors: If the system does not allow submission, check if all mandatory fields are filled correctly.
  • Missing Data: In case data is missing, ensure that the rental unit and tenant details are correctly configured in the system.
