in rental agreements, a notice period refers to the amount of time that a tenant or property manager must provide before terminating or making changes to the rental or lease agreement this document explains how to create a lease, how to define a notice period and how to issue a notice to vacate within the erp example if your rental agreement has a 1 month notice period , and you plan to move out on june 30 , you must inform your property owner by may 31 similarly, if the property owner wants you to vacate, they must give you at least 1 months’ notice or whatever is specified in the agreement login to your ccount log in to your erp account after successfully logging in go to leasing section access rental unit click on the rental unit option the rental unit page will open select rental unit for lease see the list of available units in the vacant rental unit tab you can create a lease for an existing tenant or a new tenant , depending on the requirement now click on the plus icon to create a new lease select the tenant from the list enter lease details fill out all mandatory fields to define the lease terms the lease details include lease start date and lease end date enterthe duration of the lease tenure period (months) enter total number of months for the lease total days the total days within a given time period rental charge monthly rental amount discount amount enter any discount provided discount period (months) enter the period for which the discount is applicable security deposit enter the refundable deposit amount late fine (per day) specify the penalty for late payment lock in period (months) the minimum period the tenant must stay lock in end date date when the lock in period ends notice period time that either party (tenant or owner) must give before vacating or ending the lease upload the lease agreement upload the lease agreement in pdf format after filling all the information and notice period, click on save next button after completing all the fields, including the notice period , click save & next step 5 managing active leases after successfully leasing the unit now go to the rental unit page and click on active lease page now find the tenant name for vacant the rental unit click on the notice to vacant button issue notice to vacate after clicking on the yellow button that is notice to vacant notice to vacant page will open fill in all the required details such as notice start date checkout date fill in all the required information when selecting the checkout date, if you choose the notice start date and checkout date to be the same, a notification will appear stating “required notice period 30 days, notice given 0 days, you are short by 30 days ” required notice period 30 days the lease agreement requires a 30 day notice before vacating notice given 0 days the tenant has not provided any advance notice you are short by 30 days the tenant’s notice period is 30 days less than what is required now click on ok button this will not block the process the admin and tenant can discuss and resolve the notice period issue or proceed legally if required after verifying all information, click submit to confirm success confirmation after submission, a success message will appear “notice to vacant!” click ok to close the confirmation popup this process allows property managers and tenants to manage leases efficiently, define notice periods clearly, and issue formal notice for vacating rental units in compliance with the agreement terms
